Two California consumers claim in a class action lawsuit that LG Electronics violated state law by starting its warranties on the date of purchase, rather than the date of delivery.
The law was initially passed in 2024, and the changes to New Hampshire’s Consumer Guaranty Contracts (service contract law) took effect January 1, 2025.
Obligors must now file all service contract language with the state insurance department and submit annual reports listing all administrators and sellers.
The Service Contract forms (Terms and conditions) must be filed via the System for Electronic Rates & Forms Filing (SERFF). According to the release, there are no NHID fees associated with these SERFF filing submissions. The NHID will review these forms to ensure they meet the required standards and do not include terms that are contrary to the public interest or misleading.
